With this exhibition, Bobby Z set out to tell part of his own story, and to show what goes on inside him.
More than anything, he wanted to give shape to feelings and experiences he couldn’t always put into words. Across 20 paintings, he looks at identity, love, loneliness, wounds and the way we build ourselves.
Each canvas is a piece of him, sometimes at odds with the one before. Rather than a story with a beginning and an end, the show plays out as a build-up of feelings, memories and emotional states.

Bobby Z alias Bobby Zomahounaka Bobby Zomahoun
Artiste plasticien · PeintureVisual artist · Painting
Born on 31 October 1999 in Cotonou, Benin, and raised in Paris, Bobby Z has developed an expressive way of painting that sits somewhere between figuration and abstraction.
His work explores the human condition through themes like trauma, pain, memory and vulnerability. Through distorted bodies, fragmented faces and imaginary figures, he gives a visible shape to buried emotions and inner wounds.
Working with texture, gesture and colour, he builds a world of his own where intimacy, chaos and rebuilding collide. His painting tries to bring out what so often stays hidden or hard to put into words.
